NC LCSW #C012678

Hi, I’m Deanna, LCSW

(She/Her)

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been working in the field since 2017. I received my Master in Social Work (MSW) from UNC Charlotte and have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings. My background includes work in residential, inpatient, and outpatient settings, as well as with individuals and families involved in the child welfare system.

I identify as an Asian American therapist and an ally to the LGBTQ+ community. I strive to practice with cultural awareness and sensitivity. I believe it’s important to care for yourself first; only then do you have the energy and ability to care for others—if and when you choose.

In my free time, I enjoy eating delicious food and/or sweet treats, a little bit of exercise, reading, crafting, playing video games, and watching TV with my partner and baby dog.

My Approach

I believe in meeting people where they are at in their journey and that when people have an enjoyable experience in therapy they will continue to put in the hard work to meet their goals. I also recognize that therapy can be challenging, hard, and vulnerable, therefore I create a safe space through laughter and fun. Connection is also important, building a solid relationship with clients, learning their interests and hobbies, and getting to know you for who you are. It can be easier to do hard things with a little fun and support.
